Only in the USA – police say a 4-year-old boy in southern Ohio shot his babysitter because the sitter accidentally stepped on his foot. Police said 18-year-old Nathan Beavers and several other teenagers were babysitting several young children in a mobile home in Jackson on Sunday when the shooting occurred.
Witnesses told police the 4-year-old retrieved the shotgun from a bedroom closet and shot Beavers. Police said the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot.
Beavers was hospitalized with minor pellet wounds to his arm and side.
Police say another teen was also injured with shotgun pellets.
Jackson County Sheriff John Shashteen said authorities are investigating the shooting. The child has not been charged. I thought a four year olds shoulder would pop off if he discharged a shotgun.
This news is weird, no doubt but also sad. Daniel Petric, a 17 year old boy shot his parents after they took away Halo 3 (an xbox 360 video game).
He came home after sneaking out to buy the game. His father then took it, placing the game in a lockbox—the same lockbox in which he stored his 9mm handgun.
Somehow, Petric retrieved his game and the gun from the lockbox. And according to his father, Petric entered the living room with a chilling request.
“Would you guys close your eyes?” I have a surprise for you.At that point, he was said to shoot both of his parents in the head, killing his mother.

Here is a little story about those brave Canadian Mounted Police Officers up in Canada, Frank Lasser, 82, was subdued in his hospital bed because he was not willing to relinquish a small pocket knife he was holding. This guy just came out of heart bypass surgery recently and when unable to breathe properly becomes delusional. He said he couldn’t explain why he refused to let go of the knife even after the Mounties arrived. There were three Mounties present so I can’t imagine why they had to resort to using a taser gun, talk about excessvive force.
Here is a couple of amusing quotes from the officers, “Whether the person is 80 or 20, we are dealing with a person who had a deadly weapon in their hand,” Cpl. Scott Wilson told CBC News. “We could not deploy our … pepper spray, because we could potentially contaminate the entire hospital.” Gimmie a break!
There are rumors floating around the net that, Robert Hawkins, age 20 actually blogged about his desire to go out with a bang! What a sick way to gain notoriety. The current update is the 8 are dead and 2 are in critical condition, with three others injured. This gutless murderer was dead on the scene of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Here is a bit of a weird spooky bit of trivia to usher in Halloween.
Florence Irene Ford Born: September 3, 1861 Died : October 30, 1871
Ten-year-old Florence died of yellow fever. During her short life she was very frightened of storms and whenever one rolled-in she would rush to her mother to find comfort.
Upon her death her mother was so struck with grief that she had Florence’s casket constructed with a glass window at the child’s head. The grave was dug to provide an area, the same depth of the coffin, at the child’s head, but this area had steps that would allow the mother to descend to her daughter’s level so she could comfort Florence during storms. To shelter the mother during storms, hinged metal trap doors were installed over the area the mother would occupy while at her child’s grave.
In this picture you can see the trap doors behind little Florence’s tombstone, which covers the stairway her mother used. They can still be opened today. In the mid 1950s a concrete wall was erected at the bottom of the stairway covering the glass window of Florence’s coffin to prevent vandalism. Kinda strange and spooky, eh?
